The Ultimate Guide to Hyper-Lapse Photography
Who is Scott Herder?
AND HOW DID HE LEARN HYPER-LAPSE PHOTOGRAPHY?
I’m a 30 year old from Southern California who like so many other people in the world are trying to figure out what their passion in life is.
I took an obscene amount of time to graduate college with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. My goal was to be a news anchor. I had an awesome internship at NBCLA and then I went on my first backpacking trip to see the world. I got bit by the wanderlust bug and realized I never wanted to have to live in one area to work.
Traveling led me to want to learn photography. Learning editing in college led me to video. As soon as I saw a hyper-lapse video I was hooked. I also knew I wanted to propose to my girlfriend using this technique.
There was just one huge problem. I didn’t know how to use a camera.
Not only that but I couldn’t afford or carry all the gear I thought I needed. I wanted to make these videos as good as I could but didn’t even know where to start.
I had three months to learn it all before we left Seoul. I had a budget of $0 and had to learn a lot, and learn it fast!
My very first hyper-lapse video is featured on the right.
& Hyperlapse Photography got its start.
Time & Budget Constraints were blessings in disguise.
That deadline and the limitations I set were the best thing ever. Over the course of a few months I went from making some fun novelty videos to professional quality videos.
One day my tripod and intervalometer broke. That forced me to learn how to walk and shoot at the same time without a tripod or stabilizer.
My countless trial and errors with different techniques and methods lead me to discover that each shot had a different checklist for shooting and required a different recipe for editing and stabilizing.
That’s where I come in.
You can learn from my mistakes and learn exactly what it takes to make a hyper-lapse sequence. It took me hundreds of hours of shooting and editing. Many days where I would fail because I didn’t know what key things to be thinking about.
I don’t want you to have to go through that trial and error period. I can help save you so much time and money by teaching you the minimum gear you need and exactly what to focus on for each type of shot.
If that isn’t enough, If in 30 days you aren’t happy with the course I’ll give you a 100% refund.
It’s no risk, total reward.
